Modern American Martial Arts

Our philosophy at Modern American Martial Arts is that our most precious gift in this world is life. Our lives, our bodies, our manifest energies are ours from birth. They are given to us, free of charge, and all the days which follow from that are ours to create. Every breath and every day we have to cherish as our first, and most true possession.

That philosophy is what drives us here at Modern American Martial Arts. In order to defend that life, we teach our students a curriculum which is focused on self defense. Here you will learn that you have value, and that that value is worth protecting. We will empower you with the tools necessary to do just that, whether your attacker is armed or unarmed.

Our system is rooted primarily in Modern American Kenpo, but includes aspects of Judo, Jujitsu, Capoeira, Aikido, Western Boxing and Close Quarter Combat Training. You will learn how to strike, throw, disarm, and disable an opponent, wherever the fight may take you.

Most importantly, you will learn how to recognize and avoid dangerous situations before they develop, giving you the best opportunity to survive a violent assault.

Here at Modern American Martial Arts, you won't just learn how to punch and kick. You will learn how to think. How to perceive. How to act, instead of react.

It is our goal to have students with a deep and abiding respect for themselves and others, as well as for the history and tradition of the martial arts. But most importantly, we teach self defense.

Because your life is one worth protecting.
